6 Early Signs of Autism
Delayed Speech or Language Development
Speech may be delayed, or your child may have difficulty understanding language, using words, or expressing needs clearly.
Repetitive Movements or Fixed Routines
Repeated actions, body movements, or distress around changes in routine may sometimes be noticed.
Not Responding Consistently to Name
Your child may not respond consistently when called.
Sensory Difficulties
Sensitivity to sounds, touch, textures, lights, or movement may affect comfort, attention, or daily activities.
Difficulty with Social Play or Interaction
Your child may have difficulty engaging and building connections with peers and others.
These signs may be noticed in some children and do not by themselves confirm a diagnosis. A professional developmental evaluation can help provide clarity.
